Book #1 in the Boyfriend Books Series. The Boyfriend List follows twenty-year-old Reagan in her quest for the perfect relationship after a somewhat tragic spring break breakup leaves her disillusioned about love… again.

Reagan had always prided herself on making levelheaded, practical, analytical decisions about everything. Everything, that is, except where guys are concerned. Which was proven to her, once again, when her “boyfriend” opts to take another girl on their oh-so-romantic trip to his lake house. In order to prevent future heartbreak, she creates a checklist of all the qualities she wants in a man, and vows not to give her heart away again until she can determine if they fit every last criteria.

After scouring campus with her two best friends in her tricky journey, her detective work returns a pile of unworthy rejects, and it seems as though her choices are narrowed down to only two options: the hot stranger who’s inspired her new project, and her best guy friend Ian, who she’s always kept at bay due to his perceived playboy reputation.

Reagan gets more than she bargained for with her new set of rules, however, and is surprised to find that love, and the perfect boyfriend, may have been within reach the entire time. But will Ian’s reputation ruin his chances to prove his worth? And can Reagan let go of her insecurities long enough to even give him a chance?

This book is available from Amazon, Barnes& Noble, and Smashwords.

Renee, how did you come up with the title for your book? Does it have any special meaning?
It’s literally what the book centers around. Reagan comes up with a list by which she can determine if a guy will be a good match for her. But the irony is that she never would’ve needed the list to begin with had she trusted her instincts and had confidence in herself.

Who was your favorite character and why?
I love them all! I love Reagan because I think her strengths and insecurities make her very relatable. And she blossoms into herself as the book unfolds. Ian is charming and sexy. Petra is super sassy and an amazing best friend, which makes her a lot of fun.

Does your book have any underlying theme, message, or moral?
I think the overall message is that despite what society tells us, confidence is the sexiest attribute a person can possess. I also think it touches a lot on the idea that sometimes we have to look beyond what we think we know about love to find what we really need.

What would/could a reader or reviewer say about this book that shows they “get” you as an author?
I really wanted this book to be light and fun, but still romantic. It’s not meant to be filled with dark drama or super scorching sex scenes. When a reader can appreciate it for what it is, that’s the highest compliment they could pay me.

Give us an excerpted quote from your favorite review of this book:
I’ve been really fortunate to receive a lot of great reviews on this book, which I have absolutely loved reading. But here’s part of one that I always enjoy looking back on, “This book warmed my heart… Renee shows us that taking a leap of faith. Opening your eyes to see what is right in front of you could be the thing that you have been dreaming of… I give this book that kept me warm in NY gets 7 stars from me!”
