Three Years and Going Strong

one million page viewsThree years ago today, the Evil Mastermind launched Indies Unlimited. Since then, we’ve had over one MILLION page views, been named as one of Six Great Blogs for Indie Authors in Publishers Weekly, and ranked as one of the top writing-related sites by Alexa.

We have evolved greatly since those early days, but never lost sight of providing free, high-quality content for independent publishers and readers. In 2014, IU instituted a stringent vetting process for books featured on the site in hopes of dispelling the myth that indie writing is inferior. We’ve added a KnowledgeBase and a wide variety of resource pages. We’re proud that readers and authors alike trust our content. We’re grateful to all of you for spreading the word about us.

Indies Unlimited is run by volunteers. Kudos to all the minions past and present for donating their time and energy to provide excellent articles, advice, and tutorials for our audience.

Thank you, everyone, for making Indies Unlimited a success and a community. It could not be one without the other. We look forward to another year filled with great things for all.

  1. I can’t believe it has been three years since you bestowed your gift of IU to the world. Thank you again, and Happy Anniversary (throwing the confetti now). I hope everyone appreciates the time and effort that goes into making IU a success.

  2. Happy Birthday to us! I can’t tell you how many gifts IU has given me– knowledge, experience, a home. Being part of the IU community is a dream come true, since only other writers can really understand where a writer is coming from. Hearty congrats to Stephen and Kat; your vision and hard work has paid off in spades. You’ve created the premium writer’s website. You rock!

  3. Happy birthday to us!
For me, Indies Unlimited was the shining beacon that made self-publishing a reality. I can’t ever repay the support, camaraderie, and knowledge that I’ve gotten from my participation on this site. Thank you to Kat and Stephen for having the vision to create this wonderful resource, and for including me, a true newbie. There was an inclusive mantra here that I did not find elsewhere. I will never forget it. Hugs to all of you.

  4. Happy Blogoversary to us! EM and Kat, you guys run a tip-top operation, and I’m so grateful that you’ve allowed me to be a part of it. Others have mentioned the camaraderie and support we get here, and it’s all true for me, as well. I wouldn’t be nearly as far along on my indie journey if I hadn’t found IU. Looking forward to what’s next!

  5. Wow, time goes so fast. Thank YOU, Kat and EM, for starting our little Death Star. Thank you for letting me be a part of it. I’ve met so many great people here and learned so much. And our readers are fabulous! 😀

  6. Stephen and Kat,
Happy Birthday Indies Unlimited! Thanks for your vision, hard work. and dedication. YOU have no idea the impact you have had.

To all the past and present contributing authors,
Thanks for all of your time and effort.

There will be books written about what Indies Unlimited provided for writers and readers.

  7. Congratulations, Team! Your contribution to the new world of publishing has been absolutely outstanding and you’re a shining beacon of light amid the confusion. I recommend you to all my newbie writer clients with wholehearted enthusiasm. Rock on!

  8. A Happy Birthday to IU, and many, many thanks to all those who make it work so well. It’s a wonderful resource, an information well so bounteous there is always something good bubbling to the surface, and a great means of enabling indie writers, and even those with trade links, to feel part of the writing community.
May IU prosper and continue for a very long time.

  9. Happy birthday Indies Unlimited! Wishing you many, many more.
Thanks a million for everything you do for all of us. I can never thank you enough. All my fondest love to you Kat and to Mr Hise. Your’re the best! 🙂
