The Wergle Flomp Humor Poetry Contest, sponsored by the folks at Winning Writers, is now in its fifteenth year. The contest is seeking the best in original humor poems. Published and unpublished poems of any length are welcome. One poem per person, please.

The Binnacle will sponsor its Fourteenth International Ultra-Short Competition in 2016 and 2017. They are looking for prose works of 150 words or fewer and poetry of sixteen lines or fewer and fewer than 150 words. A minimum of $300 in cash prizes will be awarded, with a minimum prize of $50. At least one of the prizes will go to a UMM student.
The Binghamton Center for Writers has opened submissions for the John Gardner Fiction Award which will go to the strongest novel or collection of fiction published in 2016.
Brilliant Flash Fiction is now accepting entries to its quarterly contest. No poetry, essays, non-fiction or memoir, please. Stories unrelated to the theme “Aftermath” will be disqualified. All entries must be original and unpublished elsewhere. This means submissions that have been accepted for publication anywhere else, including blogs, radio broadcast, personal web pages, etc., are not eligible. Entries of more than 500 words or entries found to be published anywhere else will be immediately disqualified.
