Pink Narcissus Press seeks short feminist science fiction writing for its “Daughters of Icarus” anthology. Submissions must explore gender roles in society; hard science fiction is not appropriate to this anthology.

Stories of any length will be considered.

There is no entry fee.

Earlyworks Press Short Story Competition

Earlyworks Press Short Story Competition Earlyworks Press is now accepting submissions up to 8000 words for its 2012 Short Story Competition. The best entries will be published, and their authors will receive one complimentary copy of the anthology. 10-20 will be included, depending on length and quality. The entry fee is £5 per story up to 4000 words, and £10 for over 4000 words. The closing date is October 31st 2012.

THE INTERNATIONAL AEON AWARD SHORT FICTION CONTEST FOR FANTASY, SCIENCE FICTION & HORROR

The Aeon Award is a fiction writing competition for short stories in any speculative fiction genre, i.e. fantasy, science fiction, horror or anything in-between or unclassifiable! The Aeon Award short fiction contest has a Grand Prize of €1000 and publication in Albedo One! Second and third place prizes are €200 and €100 as well as guaranteed publication in Albedo One, the leading Irish magazine of science fiction, fantasy and horror.

The submission deadline for the first round is March 31st, the second round June 30th, the third round September 30th and the final round November 30th.
