EVENT 2012 Non-Fiction Contest

EVENT – the magazine of Douglas College – is now accepting entries for its 2012 Non-Fiction Contest. There will be $1500 in prizes available, plus publication! The $34.95 entry fee includes 1 year of EVENT.

The finalists will be judged by Zsuzsi Gartner.  The deadline is April 15, 2012. Judges reserve the right to award two or three prizes: three at $500 or two at $750, plus payment for publication in EVENT 41/3. Other manuscripts may be published. Preliminary judging will be done by the editors of EVENT.

The Edna Staebler Personal Essay Contest

The New Quarterly is now their submissions for our 2012 contests, which will be published in their fall issue.

The Edna Staebler Personal Essay Contest is open to Canadian authors only, and offers a $1,000 prize for the winning essay.

There is an entry fee of $40 per submission.  The deadline is March 28, 2012.

Writer’s Digest Self-Published Book Awards

Writer’s Digest honors self-published authors with the Annual Self-Published Book Awards.This is the 20th year of spotlighting today’s self-published works.

There is a $100 entry fee for the first book.

The deadline is April 20, 2012.
