Advertising Now Available on Indies Unlimited

From the time I started Indies Unlimited, people have asked me about advertising on the site. I wanted to be sure the site would be capable of generating sufficient page views to provide good exposure to any advertising effort before I offered any such packages.

Averaging the page views from just the last two months puts the blog on pace for over a quarter million page views a year, and the page views are trending consistently upward. February saw more page views than January despite having fewer days. In fact, page views have increased each month of operation since the inception of Indies Unlimited.

We will continue to offer a wide array of free features to help promote indie authors and books, including interviews, guest posts, sneak-peeks, and video trailers. If you feel your book is worth a small advertising investment (on a site attracting a lot of attention) please check the information on the “Advertise” tab. With three different packages, we may have something just right for you!

What is Your Book About? by Krista Tibbs

Author Krista Tibbs

One question I dread to hear is: What is your book about? I should be happy that someone is curious enough to ask, but in truth, it’s akin to that point in a job interview when a person says: Tell me about yourself. I want to point to my resume and say it’s all there, can’t you just read it? I want to hand potential readers a bookmark or a preview booklet or a page of review excerpts or send them my video trailer or website — everything I created to avoid having to say it out loud — but the question inevitably comes. So, even though I’ve written my spiel and practiced it for hours, when a person asks what The Neurology of Angels is about, I usually end up mumbling something like, ”Oh, well, there’s this neurologist and a little girl with a rare disease, and, you know, he’s trying to cure her, and um, it’s hard to do, and it’s kind of expensive, what with the monkeys and all, and, well, yeah…” Continue reading “What is Your Book About? by Krista Tibbs”

Indies Unlimited Adds Laurie Boris to the Team!

Author Laurie Boris

We are very pleased to announce that Indies Unlimited has added the multi-talented  Laurie Boris to the staff. She is a freelance writer, editor, proofreader, and former graphic designer with a long history of ignoring housework and pots on the stove to sneak in “just a few more pages” of her novels. She has had her short fiction published in small magazines and on the Web. Her first novel, The Joke’s on Me, was published through small press 4RV Publishing, LLC in 2011. Her second, Drawing Breath, will be self-published soon. A genre-bender and a lover of the character-driven story, Laurie plans to continue writing more tragicomic sagas, some darker than others. I expect she’ll draw plenty of inspiration from her experience here.

When not playing with the universe of imaginary people in her head, she enjoys baseball, cooking, reading, and helping aspiring novelists. She lives in New York’s lovely Hudson Valley with her very patient husband, Paul Blumstein, a commercial illustrator.

Please welcome Laurie to the all-star staff of Indies Unlimited.
