AndWeWereHungry, a new online literary magazine, seeks prose, poetry and art for their debut issue. Theme: “And We Were Hungry,” or “Hunger.” Short story submissions are automatically considered for their Flying Elephants Short Story Prize, sponsored by “Ashes & Snow.”

FolkHeart Press February Anthology

This February, FolkHeart Press is publishing a free e-book: LOVE Potions, Lotions & Lore. Authors interested in participating can supply stories, visuals, essays (also reprinted material or book excerpts) about love of self, family, country, spirit, art, food, romantic love (family friendly), etc.

While no one is financially compensated, all contributors will get biography and website/book links in the book and FolkHeart Press will be doing PR for it.

Narrative magazine seeks submissions for its Winter 2013 story contest. The contest is open to previously unpublished fiction and nonfiction entries up to 15,000 words.

Glimmer Train is accepting submissions for their twice-yearly Very Short Fiction contest. Open to all writers and all themes; entries must not have been previously published in print. Maximum length is 3000 words.
