Wasafiri New Writing Prize

WasafiriThe 2012 Wasafiri New Writing Prize is now open to anyone worldwide who has not published a complete book. They are looking for creative submissions in one of three categories: Poetry, Fiction or Life Writing.

£300 will be awarded to the winner of each category and their work will be published in Wasafiri.

Entry fee: £6.00 if entering one category, £10 for two and £15 for all three.

Deadline – 5pm GMT on 27 July 2012.

New Era Times PressNew Era Times Press is now accepting submissions for its 2012 & Beyond Essay Competition. Essays must answer one of three questions found at the website which deal with spiritual & metaphysical concepts & your personal journey to 2012.

Winners will be featured in an anthology published as an ebook in the fall with hard copy available January 2013.

MWA Novel Contest: Great Beginnings

Submit the first 7000 words (max) of your unpublished novel in English, with an optional 200-500 word synopsis of the novel. Three entries maximum. Entries are accepted electronically until June 30, 2012.

Cinnamon Press Novel/Novella Writing Award

Cinnamon PressThe Cinnamon Press Novel/Novella Writing Award competition is now accepting submissions from new and published authors. The aim of this award is to encourage new authors, enabling debut novelists/novella writers to achieve a first publication in this genre. The winning author has his/her first novel published by Cinnamon Press and receives a prize of £400. The four runners up also receive a full appraisal of their novel.

Entry fee is £16 per entry.

The deadline for submissions is 30th June 2012.
