Kathy Meis is a writer, editor, and an award-winning journalist. She says her  greatest area of strength as a writer is her ability to take complex ideas and simplify them for a general audience.Curiously, I do just the opposite. That may explain my sales.

“As a journalist, ghostwriter and public speaker for more than twenty years, I’ve written articles, speeches and books on a wide variety of subjects such as green technologies, finance, scientific controversies, politics, the media, publishing, economics, etc. For a content nerd like myself, it has been a great gig. Meet the Author: Pete Morin

Author Pete Morin

Pete Morin has been a trial attorney, a politician, a bureaucrat, a lobbyist, and now, a fiction writer. He’s still deciding what to do for a living.

He feels his greatest strength as a writer lies in his intuitive sense of what is in his characters’ hearts, and this shows itself in their descriptions, mannerisms and dialogue.

Meet the Author: Boyd Lemon

Author Boyd Lemon

Author Boyd lemon is a retired lawyer, living in Ventura, California near his four children and four (soon to be five) grandchildren. His passion is writing, and he loves to travel and sample food and wine of the world.

Boyd says the discipline to write every day is his greatest strength. “As a result, I write a lot of garbage, but enough of it is decent enough to make something out of it. I sometimes go back to old notebooks, read what I have written and find a few gems that relate to a story or book I am writing.” As far as areas in which he wishes to strengthen his writing, Boyd says he is working on improving scene building and descriptions, as well as the building of tension in a story. Meet the Author: Pat Valdata

Author Pat Valdata

Pat Valdata received an MFA in fiction writing from Goddard College. She has two published novels: Crosswind (Wind Canyon Books, 1997) and The Other Sister(Plain View Press, 2008), which won a gold medal from the Árpád Academy in 2009. Her poetry chapbook, Looking for Bivalve (2002), was a finalist in the Pecan Grove Press chapbook competition. In 2009, three poems from the chapbook were set to music and performed in New York City by composer Dennis Tobenski.

Pat says her writing strength is in providing descriptive detail that lets her readers picture the characters, setting and action in her books. “People who have read The Other Sister tell me that they couldn’t put it down, which is wonderful to hear, so I guess I am good at telling a compelling story, which is really what I try to do.” Continue reading “Meet the Author: Pat Valdata”
