It’s baaaaack… Dark Tales is relaunching its short story competition. The quarterly magazine is seeking unpublished horror and science fiction stories up to 5000 words.

Prizes: First prize, £250 plus publication; Runner-up, £50 plus publication; Third place, £25 plus publication.

Reading fee: £5  (higher if you’d like a critique)

A perennial favorite for 31 years, this competition for emerging writers is open to original, unpublished short fiction up to 3500 words. Ms. Hemingway, granddaughter of Ernest Hemingway, is the competition’s final judge.
