Write a poem, 30 lines or fewer on any subject and/or write a short story, 5 pages maximum length on any theme for a chance to win cash awards!

 

Prizes: Writing First Prize: $500, 2nd: $250, 3rd: $100
Poetry First Prize: $250, 2nd: $125, 3rd: $50

Entry fees: $5 per poem/ $10 per story

Underground Voices Short Story Competition

Underground Voices is sponsoring a short story competition. Partial proceeds will go to Reading is Fundamental, a nonprofit program to get books and literacy resources to children in need. Submit two stories maximum, no more than twenty-five pages each.
