What do sweat, heaving bosoms, and short skirts have in common? No, not that — Indies unlimited is a safe for work site. The quote above should have clued you in to my topic this month for Getting It Right. Tennis is a wonderful sport requiring skill, speed, mental fortitude, and often, the patience of a saint. A character that plays tennis, no matter the skill level, will give the reader clues to their personality. As a pro once told me, “How you are on the court is how you are in life.” Although I don’t agree 100% with that assessment, I’ll accept it for the purpose of this post. Favicon, Schmavicon

I damaged my little toe last week. Tiny and insignificant it may be but oh boy does it hurt. Small things are like that, you may not notice them when they’re working fine but when they’re not they can cause all manner of mayhem. Take favicons for example, short for Favourites Icon. You probably hardly notice the effect they have on your browsing behaviour but they’re powerful little chaps.

2013 Rogue Writing Contest

Assent Publishing wants submissions for their 2013 Rogue Writing Contest. All subgenres of horror, suspense, thriller, and apocalyptic fiction accepted. Complete manuscripts only, at novella (40,000 – 50,000) or full-length (70,000-100,000) word counts. All submissions will be judged by Assent Publishing’s acquisitions and imprint editors.
