Indie authors and publishers think a lot about getting books into libraries. I’m not sure why. Maybe it’s a rite of passage, or a holdover of the older, traditional publishing industry. Or maybe, as in my case, it’s the awkward silence when asked, “Can I check out your book from the library?” Real books are in libraries. Right? In a perfect world, you’d walk into a library carrying your sleek print book, hand it to a librarian, and they’d graciously accept it, asking you when you’d like to come in and give a talk. Then they’d scan it, enter it in the system, and you’d be good to go.
