Words with JAM’s Annual Short Story Competition just got BIGGER. Submit your 2500-word short story on any theme, 1000-word “shorter story,” and/or 250-word “shortest story.”

Prizes:
1st prize in each category – £300
2nd prize in each category – £100
3rd prize in each category – £50

Reading fee is £6.00 for first entry and £4.00 for each additional entry.

The Danahy Fiction Prize

The Danahy Fiction Prize is an award given annually for a previously unpublished work of short fiction, generally between 500 and 5000 words. Judging is by the editors of Tampa Review, and all entries are considered for publication.

Glimmer Train Fiction Open Contest

Glimmer Train’s quarterly “Fiction Open” is open to all subjects, all themes, and all writers. Most entries run from 2,000 to 8,000 words, although stories from 2,000 to 20,000 words are welcome.

Prizes:

$2,500 for first place (plus publication in Glimmer Train Stories),  $1,000 for second place, $600 for third place.

Reading fee is $19 per story. Please no more than three submissions per contest.
