Week 25 Flash Fiction Challenge: The Whale’s Tale

Me? I enjoy being a whale. I know, some of the other cetaceans have a few issues. Every once in a while, some poor schlub decides to end it all and tosses himself up on a beach somewhere.

I’m more easy-going about it. To me, life is good. Water’s nice—all the krill you can eat. What’s to stress over?

I don’t usually do this tourist-boat schtick, but mating season started a little early for my friend Wally, and he asked me to cover for him.

It’s not exactly challenging. Man, these people are really easily impressed. I’m thinking maybe I’ll do something a little different than Wally’s usual routine. See that lady over there with the camera and the little white dog? Watch this…

In 250 words or less, tell me a story incorporating the elements in the picture. The 250 word limit will be strictly enforced.

K.S. Brooks Interviewed by Cyrus Webb

In case you missed it, yesterday our own K.S. “Kat” Brooks was interviewed by Cyrus Webb of Conversations LIVE! radio and Conversations Magazine.

It was a riveting half-hour interview in which she spills all the dirt and names names. There is a distinct possibility she said something about you. Or maybe not. I recommend you find out though.

Okay, I may have made that part up. Mostly, she talks about Mr. Pish. Kat is very above-board and professional. It’s Pish you have to worry about. He knows things.

Cinnamon Press Novel/Novella Writing Award

Cinnamon PressThe Cinnamon Press Novel/Novella Writing Award competition is now accepting submissions from new and published authors. The aim of this award is to encourage new authors, enabling debut novelists/novella writers to achieve a first publication in this genre. The winning author has his/her first novel published by Cinnamon Press and receives a prize of £400. The four runners up also receive a full appraisal of their novel.

Entry fee is £16 per entry.
