Big Changes to Facebook Cover Photos (but it’s a secret)

Facebook LogoBig news for cover photos on Facebook. As you may know, Facebook has very strict guidelines when it comes to what you can say, what you can do, and how you “advertise” on your Facebook Page. Of course, the reason was, Facebook wants you to advertise through Facebook ads!

However, very quietly, Facebook has dropped some of its restrictions; most importantly, it doesn’t disallow Call-to-Actions. Hold on, before you grammar police get all handcuffing on me, the previous sentence was meant as a double negative. You see, Facebook didn’t come out and say, “You can now do this.” They actually just dropped the language that says you can’t. You might think that I’m writing a blog post today … but I’m not. Yeah, yeah, what are these words, right? It’s actually my mind kicking myself in the butt. Every week, we discuss the next latest and greatest; we work toward achieving higher and higher levels with our businesses. What happens if we don’t do that?

Seriously, that’s the point. As we dive into social media marketing each week and promote the you-know-what out of our books, sometimes we have to look back at our businesses.

Google+ and Facebook Just Got BIGGER!

Two changes occurred last week in the two biggest social media platforms.

This is really big!

You might have noticed that your cover photo on Google+ is all messed up. They have recently changed the dimensions, allowing you to add bigger pictures. It’s really simple and worth the few minutes to fix the profile.

Get to your Google+ page by logging into Google and clicking your name in the upper left-hand corner. From there, click on your current profile picture in the upper right hand corner and select “view profile.” Immediately, you’ll see the problem: the new over-sized photos are 2120px by 1192px, leaving you much room to play.
