I’m still writing, how about you?

I intended to get back to my “how to” posts this week. However, with the constant bickering and conspiracy theory arguments that are flying around, I couldn’t help myself.

You’ve heard it all, Amazon is bowing to the Big Six, Barnes and Noble and Amazon are destroying self-publishing and the traditional publishers are taking over the industry while charging $25,000 dollars to get your book out.

A Strong Finish

Today is December 1st, one month left in 2012!

Wow, it’s TIME to kick back and slide into cruise control, right?

Wrong.

You see, the rest of the world will be slowing down and paying less attention to their businesses. Holiday parties will be rolling through—you get up a little later, take a couple of days off from writing.

That doesn’t have to be you! First, let me suggest. I’m not Scrooge. I LOVE the holidays. Think about it though, while the rest of the world slows down— it’s a perfect opportunity for you to pick up the pace.

Now is the time of the year to reach out to people, and your platform, without selling them anything. Now is the time to revisit your plans and start planning for next year.

Happy Thanksgiving

I hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving. Okay, at least all of you guys who celebrate this holiday. If you don’t, that’s really too bad. Out of all the holidays, this is one of my favorites. All right, if you twist my arm I’m sure I would put Christmas a notch ahead.

However, Thanksgiving in itself has turned into a holiday with a very simple premise—stop the rat race and reflect on the things for which you are thankful. Is Anyone Listening When I’m Not Here?

What would happen if you threw a party and no one came?

Do you ever feel like that in our world of indie writing and publishing? We continuously talk and promote our books through Twitter, Facebook and other sites. We talk about these things all the time on this site. Hell, I am one of the biggest proponents of social media. In fact, I earn the majority of my non-writing income now from helping companies set up and maintain social media sites and campaigns.
