Should I Care About Amazon Author Rankings?

As if we didn’t have enough things to make us crazy, Amazon has come up with a new one—Amazon Author Rank. This is different from the “sales” rank for individual books on individual platforms. The new ranking combines all your books sold on Amazon—Kindle, hard-copy, and multiple titles.

Where are you in respect to other authors on Amazon?

So many different gimmicks out there are supposed to make your social media marketing easier. Many times, they just become a time-suck. Twitter is one of those invaluable tools, you can’t live with it and you can’t live without it. When I look at the statistics on my blog, Twitter is the number one referrer to my site. Perspective Changes Everything

We are all individuals in this world with different ways of looking at the same events. No better period demonstrates this principle than our current events. Here in the United States, we have two political parties that are talking about the same issues in entirely different ways. Depending on how you look at things, you are either dissing half the country or telling it like it is.

Have you seen the recent NFL referee debacle? If you caught the end of the Seattle Seahawks vs. Green Bay Packers game last Monday night, you saw one of the most publicized displays of perspective in the history of sports. Twitter Adds New Header Feature

Every week there are more and more changes in social media and this week was no exception. With all the sites letting you get more creative, Twitter stepped up to the plate this week to let you add a header that becomes a background for your profile. This change will allow you to swap photos in and out over time depending on your mood, or marketing campaign.

It’s really simple to set up. Open your Twitter account and go to the little gear up in the right-hand corner. Click and select “Settings” and “Design.”
