What the heck are those empty boxes???

This past Saturday, our Jim Devitt showed us how to implement the new Twitter header. If you missed that, you can read it here. Two things came from this header change: a spiffy new look and the burning question “what the heck are those empty boxes on the left-hand side of my screen?” Well, worry not. I’m going to tell you what they are, and how to use them!

I don’t know exactly when Twitter gave us the functionality of being able to upload/tweet photographs directly. Those empty boxes, however, are the most recent pictures in your photo album. If you’ve never directly tweeted a photo, your boxes will be blank. If you tweet from HootSuite, Facebook or another program – those boxes will remain empty. Working Title

Book titles are funny things. For some writers, a title presents itself before the first word gets typed into their word-makers. Some pop up along the way. I’ve been lucky, I guess. For nearly all of my projects, the title has always been there. Dependable as the adult diapers of approximately the same name. Not that I would know anything about that, of course. Indie-Only Bookstores?

What if somebody told you that in the future not only would bookstores sell indie work, but there would be entire stores devoted only to books by indie authors? Good idea? Fantasy? Unworkable? What if I told you they are already here?

I’ve been in touch with two new stores, one online and one in the proverbial “brick and mortar”, that do just that. It might be pushing it to call these stores “harbingers”, but I don’t think it’s totally wild-eyed to take them as indicators of some sort, and possibly a major future wave in bringing indie books to the public.
