Advertising Now Available on Indies Unlimited

From the time I started Indies Unlimited, people have asked me about advertising on the site. I wanted to be sure the site would be capable of generating sufficient page views to provide good exposure to any advertising effort before I offered any such packages.

Averaging the page views from just the last two months puts the blog on pace for over a quarter million page views a year, and the page views are trending consistently upward. February saw more page views than January despite having fewer days. In fact, page views have increased each month of operation since the inception of Indies Unlimited.

We will continue to offer a wide array of free features to help promote indie authors and books, including interviews, guest posts, sneak-peeks, and video trailers. If you feel your book is worth a small advertising investment (on a site attracting a lot of attention) please check the information on the “Advertise” tab. With three different packages, we may have something just right for you!

Ed’s Casual Friday: Happy Birthday to Me.

BirthdayToday is February 24th, 2012, meaning tomorrow is the 25th. I sold four copies the last couple days of that month, and of course I know who bought them.  😉

At that time, one year ago, my “online presence” consisted of an e-mail account I checked every few days. Maybe once a week. No facebook, no blog, never heard of Goodreads nor Smashwords, nor several dozen other virtual places where I now seem to spend an inordinate amount of time on a daily basis. LinkedIn Profile Tip – Links

Linked In ProfileThis past Sunday, Rosanne Dingli explained why authors and businesspeople should be on LinkedIn.  You can read her article here. Once you’re on LinkedIn, there are a couple of things you can do to get better exposure. The method many people agree has the most impact is the “links” section.

In the screen capture to the left, you can see at the very bottom there is a heading called “Websites.” This is where LinkedIn allows you to supply a maximum of three external links. Many people just put in their http address and leave it at that. But LinkedIn allows you to do something even better – actually describe where the link goes – so there isn’t a bunch of ugly html sitting on your profile and people have a clue what they’re clicking. Tuesday Tutorial – YouTube “Links”

Movie Clapper BoardEveryone knows if you’re an author with a published book, you’re supposed to have a video trailer. It’s become virtually mandatory. But many Indie Authors can’t afford to pay to have one done, nor do some of us have the knack for doing that kind of thing ourselves. But all is not lost.

If you have a YouTube channel, and if you have videos on that channel, there is still something you can do to help steer people towards your book(s).  It’s extremely simple but most of us don’t do it. (Yes, you can even do it on your book’s video trailer if you’re fortunate enough to have one.) Continue reading “Tuesday Tutorial – YouTube “Links””
