Wallowing in obscurity can be frustrating. Well, not so much the obscurity part, but the poverty part that goes with it. I don’t have a big enough following to get Kindle Scout’s attention like Martin Crosbie did. I don’t have the energy or the time to put out a zillion books a year like Lynne Cantwell or Melissa Pearl. But what I do have is a defective, devious brain that can calculate and scheme and come up with an out-of-the-box marketing plan. Yes, I know RJ Crayton recently warned against these kinds of longshots. But really – this one will work – I just know it. Continue reading “My Brilliant Book Marketing Scheme”

Hop on the Video Trailer
Who doesn’t love to have their appetite whetted by a good movie teaser? Break out the popcorn! Well, a good book trailer video can have the same effect. So why not have your book’s video trailer featured here, at Indies Unlimited, for free?
If you’d like to have your trailer featured, please query using the contact form here. Make sure to include a link to the trailer as well as a purchase link to your book on a verified retail site.
The Video Trailer Feature requires a 100 word book description to accompany the video. Include a link to YouTube so we can obtain the necessary HTML code. You can see an example HERE. Authors submitting a Video Trailer will have that book showcased in the IU store for one year. These features require a purchase link for Amazon, Smashwords, Barnes and Noble or some other mainstream outlet. Trailers should not have a run time in excess of 1:30 (90 seconds).
FAQ You Very Much
So, you like the idea of Indies Unlimited and you want to help out – AWESOME! You want to know what you can do…and we’re happy to tell you. You’ll find the answer on our FAQ Page, but in case you missed that, here it is for you again, below:
8. How can I help support Indies Unlimited in its mission to promote the indie author community?
Money is always nice. There is a PayPal button in the left sidebar. If you’d like to toss a couple of bucks in there, we’d be grateful. If you’d like to promote your work on Indies Unlimited, we do offer low-cost advertising. Purchases of cool Indies Unlimited gear and buying through our Bookstore is also a help.
More importantly though, you can help spread the word about Indies Unlimited – pass links to interesting articles on to the friends in your social networks (we make that very easy with share buttons at the bottom of each post), subscribe to Indies Unlimited on Facebook and Twitter, add Indies Unlimited to your own blog roll, and encourage your friends and fans to visit and comment. You can subscribe, comment, or offer a guest post. On a less direct note, if you want to help make our lives easier, if/when you do submit something, we greatly appreciate it if you follow our guidelines – more detail on why is here. There are lots of ways to help us promote indie authors.
