Naomi has just two weeks to find a new home for Joseph’s grandfather. The old Ute shaman is fighting for his life against a mysterious injection of toxin he received at the hands of the Norse Trickster god Loki. If Naomi is to defeat Loki once and for all, she must learn what it is he seeks under the old man’s wickiup.

She has just one week before she must mediate between the Earth’s pagan gods and goddesses and the Christian God. If her efforts fail, all of humankind will suffer the consequences.

And her baby is due any day.

In this, the fifth and final book of the Pipe Woman Chronicles, Naomi is in a race against the clock to balance the demands of her body, her family, and her friends – and she must do it while the whole world is watching.

The Magi, the most powerful of men, confront the supernatural beings – the Forsaken races- in a deadly Game to control the collective unconscious of mankind.

An ancient demigod, our storyteller, stands between the two sides and unfolds his plans to outflank them. For this, he traps in his web Igor Rubinstein, a dark trickster with shadowy desires, Robert Cassidy, an outspoken ex-convict with a passion for nicknames, and Daniel Maladie, a cowardly bibliophile with exotic looks. For the demigod’s plans to take effect, these three have to steal the Book of the Forsaken, a long-lost artifact that holds ancient knowledge about the survival or extinction of the supernatural beings.

The relic resurfaces in modern Europe and the hunt begins.

Featured Book: Sand Dollar

Sand DollarSand Dollar
by Sebastian Cole
Genre: Romance/Fantasy
Available from Amazon.

Robin’s love saves Noah by inspiring him to stand up to his powerful parents and reclaim his true self at all costs. But Robin harbors a devastating secret. Is it enough that two soul mates have found each other, or are the forces that would tear them apart too great?

Excerpt:

“Because for me, the sand dollar represents how fragile life really is. What was once so very precious, suddenly and without warning, disintegrated and vanished before my eyes. Seemingly solid and secure in our hands, the blessings we have in our lives today are easily shattered tomorrow.”

“The lesson learned: Never take your loved ones for granted. And if you’re ever lucky enough to find that one person in life who makes you love more than any other person could possibly make you love, you treat every day together as if it were your last. You cherish every moment.”

“However, for me, this lesson came too late, for she was already gone. And there was nothing I could do to put the pieces back together. I would spend my life wishing I could somehow travel back, back in time, to the day I first laid eyes on that precious beauty…”

What others say:
“So to the hopeless romantics out there I say, Highly Recommended – have at it, this is a must-read. To the snarling cynics like me who mentally have their arms akimbo and their eyebrow raised, I say pick up Sand Dollar: A Story of Undying Love and surprise yourself by discovering the romantic in you.” – Bookideas.com

Magic Realism: An Overview

signMagic Realism, or Magical Realism, has become a hotly discussed term among writers of both fiction and non-fiction. Indeed, some would argue that it has no place in fiction. Others disagree. It is also discussed in other art forms but I will stick to writing in this post.

I have been participating in a few groups where these discussions take place, mostly as a fly on the wall, listening and learning, occasionally offering a beginner’s question or comment. My interest was piqued when two other writers suggested that my books could fall into that category. So with the qualifier that I still have a lot to learn I will attempt to pass on some of what I have discovered. Continue reading “Magic Realism: An Overview”
