As you may have heard, I’ve been accused of participating in a recent book collaboration with two other Indies Unlimited authors: Stephen Hise and JD Mader. I’m not prepared to confirm or deny that at this time. What I will say, though, is that one would think collaborating would be a natural thing for writers to do. In my case, when I was twelve-years-old, I received an award for cooperation in summer camp. It was a shiny green ribbon with gold letters on it. I still have it. Okay, perhaps I have issues. I’m a writer, so what did you expect?

Write What You Know?

How many times have we all heard that old saw “write what you know”? What does that even mean?
Many take this as advice to write only about our areas of expertise, what we have studied, where we have been. The implication is that if we are not well versed in our subject matter that we will slip up somehow and that our ignorance cannot help but be revealed.

Introducing Indies Unlimited After Hours Features

You’re up late and you’ve already read all the great daily content on Indies Unlimited. What’s an insomniac to do? Watch another re-run of Seinfeld? Heaven forfend!

Indies Unlimited is here to help. Our new After Hours is a group of features that will run at 11:00 PM Pacific Time on the blog. If you’re not reading one, then write one up and submit it or, better yet, do both.

Story Time

Story Time is an opportunity for writers to showcase their short stories of 1200 words or less. Stories will run with author photo and link to the author’s blog or website. All stories must be appropriate for a PG-13 type audience.

Rhyme or Reason

Guests may submit poetry for this feature. Poems of all types up to 30 lines on any topic appropriate for a PG-13 audience will be considered.  These features will run with a photo of the author and a link to the author’s website or blog.

Airing of Grievances

This is a humor feature (up to 500 words) in which guests place a snarky or witty spin on something that bothers them, in the world of writing or the world at large. Feature will run with a picture of the author and a link to the author’s website or blog.

INTRODUCTION

TO THE SECOND EDITION

The original edition of The Last Exile came out in November 2009. The sequel, Requiem for a Country, (November 2011), covered my life from a more defined geopolitical prospective; it also included footnotes and annotation, making the work both an adventure story and a textbook about the history of the 20th Century.

The two works now complete my project of telling every pertinent detail and discussing every pertinent controversy surround-ing the Jews and non-Jews from Sarajevo post WWI to Italy in WWII, from Spain of yore to America today. Continue reading “Jasha Levi introduces 2nd Edition of The Last Exile
