We’re firmly entrenched into the New Year—the stress of the holidays is over, we’ve marketed like crazy to get to all those new device owners and the last thing we want to do is look at another social media tweet, blog, post or anything—especially, if you have to generate the content.

Burnout is serious business. It can kill your motivation and even leave you with a negative attitude toward the things that are an integral part of your overall writing/publishing career. A Strong Finish

Today is December 1st, one month left in 2012!

Wow, it’s TIME to kick back and slide into cruise control, right?

Wrong.

You see, the rest of the world will be slowing down and paying less attention to their businesses. Holiday parties will be rolling through—you get up a little later, take a couple of days off from writing.

That doesn’t have to be you! First, let me suggest. I’m not Scrooge. I LOVE the holidays. Think about it though, while the rest of the world slows down— it’s a perfect opportunity for you to pick up the pace.

Now is the time of the year to reach out to people, and your platform, without selling them anything. Now is the time to revisit your plans and start planning for next year.

Getting What You Want

Have you ever done something that seemed silly but you really hoped it worked?

I have, and I’m here to tell you all about it. It’s a little embarrassing— admitting that I actually did this and believed in it.

The month before I published my debut novel, The Card, I created a manifestation board. You know, one of those collage type of things that have a bunch of pictures of what you want to accomplish or acquire. You’ve probably heard about them in books or movies like The Secret.
