Video Trailer: R.S. Guthrie’s “Black Beast”

This is the video trailer for R.S. Guthrie’s novel, Black Beast. This book has only 5-star ratings on Amazon – 19 of them!

“Black Beast” is the first in a series of “Clan of MacAulay” novels. Denver Detective Bobby Macaulay has faced down a truckload of tragedy over recent years. The death of his partner; the loss of his own leg in the line of duty; the companionship of his beloved wife to cancer; his faith in God to his inner demons. After the man who ruined his leg and killed his first partner is executed, Macaulay becomes the lead detective investigating the Sloan’s Lake murders. The method of killing in this double-homicide is so heinous it leads Macaulay and his partner down an ever-darkening path–one that must be traversed if they are to discover the evil forces behind the slaughter. Just when Bobby Macaulay is questioning the very career that has been his salvation, he will discover a heroic history buried within his own family roots: The Clan MacAulay–a deep family lineage of protectors at the very core of a millenniums-long war against unimaginable evil.

  1. I'm not Scottish, but your book really intrigues me. As a highlander from across the globe, I share what I think you are trying to accomplish here in your book: an appreciation for one's heritage within a dynamic story. Best of luck! Keep tweeting:)

  2. Very well done! (And Papa Roach – excellent). Have to buy the book cause I don't have an e-reader – no instant gratification for me. 🙁

And after reading the excerpt/preview of the book you're writing set in Wyoming, all I can say is BRING IT ON!

  3. I'm going to get myself in trouble here, but it's the best trailer I've ever seen. Have downloaded both the book and the Papa Roach song. Honestly I can't put the book down. I'm staying up way past my bedtime cuz I need to know what happens next. So looking forward to the next book. You have an amazing gift for writing.

  4. Wow it looks like a trailer for a blockbuster movie, which is exactly what it should be…I have read the book and I could not put the book down. This trailer perfectly captures the essence of the story. A very talented man. Cannot wait for the next book.
