Facebook Holiday Fest!

Facebook Holiday FestThe holidays are now upon us. How about spreading some holiday cheer by showing some love to our Facebook pages?

This is how it works: If you are a person with a Facebook page you’re welcome to join in. This is not limited to being an author, publisher, publicist, literary agent, book reviewer, librarian, (but if you’re a book-lover – that’s awesome!), etc., in the comments below, paste in the link for your Facebook Page. Make sure you show some love to the links in the comments above yours, and check back throughout the day to catch up. (“Likes” from other PAGES do not count. Only “likes” from personal accounts register.)

[Don’t forget, if you right-click the links, you can choose to have them open in a separate tab so you don’t have to worry about navigating back and forth to pages.]

This should be fun and should generate a lot of likes, follows, etc. for everyone who plays. Let’s get the party started!

To those with concerns about the ethical implications of “liking” a book you have not read, we regard  likes as more analogous to a “high five” than a rating or review. We do not support the idea of rating or reviewing a book you have never read.

PLEASE be sure to reciprocate by liking those who like you. This is give and take. If everyone plays by the golden rule, we all benefit.

    1. Thank you for liking my page, Jon. (You’re the only one who’s actually done that this morning.) I reciprocated.
Having a picture show up would probably help. Not sure what’s going on there.

      1. We “Like” as our personal pages, so we only see the personal Facebook Page URL. We need to see your authorpage/fanpage URL to Like you back + I will gladly do so 😉

And as noted by someone else here, there seems to be a shortage of fair-play Liking going on… although I posted here early, I only had 16 Likes (plus a few who had already Liked my page) out of the 143 messages here. I will happily Like back anyone who Liked me, but am less inclined to go seeking out non-reciprocating pages to Like. Sorry.

  1. Happy holidays everyone. I’m late to the party. I’ve been busy all day working on promotion and communicating with my publisher about sending me copies of my new book(due to be released January 13) in time for Christmas. You can find me and see the cover of my book at: https://www.facebook.com/HillbillySavant

  2. Funny, I liked a whole lot of you, everyone up to this point, but I’ve received very few likes in return. Come on guys, play fair. I’ll be checking names, and who has reciprocated, and will decide whether this is worth further effort or not.

    1. Hi, Ester – Would you mind re-posting your link? I know I “Liked” everyone’s page who posted on here, but there were a couple of links that went to personal pages, not “author” pages. Therefore, I couldn’t “like” them. I can’t remember if yours was one of those or not. Thanks.

    2. Something to consider, Ester – several participants may have previously liked your page during other likefests and therefore are unable to add to your total now.

  3. I hope everyone has a productive and happy 2015. Thank you, Jo Marshall, for posting your New Year’s wishes or I would have missed this post and the chance to like or follow all of your pages. I’m looking forward to the reading I will be doing in the near future. I’m currently working on my first novel, so I’m curious to learn as much as I can about independent publishing. My facebook page, “Venus Tuesday”, is a combined art/writing personal blog.
