Frankenstein is a writer’s game wherein a story is composed of sentences contributed by different authors. We play this game a lot in Book Junkies, and everyone has a lot of fun with it.
So, I’ll kick it off with a prompt sentence, then you guys each add a sentence in the comment thread. Each subsequent sentence should feed off the sentence before it in the thread. So, let’s see what monster of a story we can stitch together.
One note though: PG-13 type blog—keep it clever but clean.
Prompt sentence:
Samantha crept to the top of the stairs, her mind filled with trepidation at the scene she would find there.

She had heard the clash of metal on metal, the tinkling of breaking glass, the thud … then nothing.
Her mind froze…she stood with one foot on the landing and one on the top step, wondering.
The moonlight coming through the landing window lit the whole of the obviously empty hallway and she suddenly wondered whether the sounds had come from inside or out.
But just then, there was another loud clank and the sound of shattering glass.
Someone, or something, flashed in the corner of her eye and she quickly halted her steps again.
Damn, she thought. Santa's pissed again.
Samantha thought perhaps she shouldn't have skimped on the cookies by purchasing the store brand – but how was she to know Santa would be able to tell the difference?
Suddenly she smelled a mix of wet reindeer and Old Spice.
She raced down the stairs to welcome her husband home.
Although chunky codgers turned her on, how could she approach him while he was pitching a fit and probably knocking over her Christmas tree lights?
Remembering his weakness, she stealthily slipped his earlobe into her mouth, and slowly exhaled.
Hi baby, I missed you SO MUCH; I've got an extra special treat for you right over here, just drop the crowbar first.
Santa replied, "Samantha, I told you last time you tried this that it wouldn't work – I'm not getting an earring."
