Advertising Now Available on Indies Unlimited

From the time I started Indies Unlimited, people have asked me about advertising on the site. I wanted to be sure the site would be capable of generating sufficient page views to provide good exposure to any advertising effort before I offered any such packages.

Averaging the page views from just the last two months puts the blog on pace for over a quarter million page views a year, and the page views are trending consistently upward. February saw more page views than January despite having fewer days. In fact, page views have increased each month of operation since the inception of Indies Unlimited.

We will continue to offer a wide array of free features to help promote indie authors and books, including interviews, guest posts, sneak-peeks, and video trailers. If you feel your book is worth a small advertising investment (on a site attracting a lot of attention) please check the information on the “Advertise” tab. With three different packages, we may have something just right for you!

Anyone feeling differently is welcome to educate me in the comment section below.

This past Saturday, our Jim Devitt wrote an informative post about Klout. If you missed it, you can read it here. Jim did a great job covering the basics, so I’m not going to go over those again.  I will give you, however a couple of tips on how to give someone a +K rating, and how to list them as an “influencer.” Continue reading “Tutorial Tuesday – Klout?”

Sex Scenes Must Serve the Story – Richard C. Hale

Let’s talk about sex. Not the gender kind, or the orientation kind, or even ‘the lack of’ kind, I’m talking about the sex that an author decides to put in their novel. I, for one, have tried and it, I have to say, I liked it. Does that mean I feel every one of my stories needs some soft porn or graphic gratuitous gratification? No. Is erotica a necessary way to keep the story going? I don’t think so. Does it have its place? Oh definitely. I’m just not sure what that place is yet.
