Sneak Peek: Now & Again

Today we have a sneak peek from the science fiction novel by author E. A. Fournier: Now & Again.

When a day begins with burying your wife, you’d think it can’t get much worse, but for Kendall McCaslin and his son, Josh, it can. On their way back from the cemetery, they’re caught in a chain-reaction freeway crash and both killed. Surprisingly, they don’t stay dead.

The fatal accident propels father and son into a series of equally lethal alternate crashes until they devise an escape route. Bruised but intact, they uncomfortably realize that they now carry compound memories. Racing home, Kendall finds his wife alive again; Josh discovers his longtime girlfriend is missing. Anthems for Authors – Dancing in the Dark

Okay, how about we just get this out of the way first? Yes, it’s Courtney Cox. Yes, she was a plant. Yes, this video launched her career.

More importantly, there is one sentence near the end of this song that speaks to writers. The song builds up to it…and then, when he gets there, I always yell “I’m sicka sittin’ round here tryin’ to write this book.” And I’ve been doing that since 1984. And now, Dancing in the Dark by The Boss, Bruce Springsteen.

Understanding the Indies Unlimited Mission

Congratulations you have just been drafted. You are now a private in the army of the ‘Evil Empire.’ I think I know the Evil Empire is better than it sounds, because Stephen Hise is the Evil Mastermind, and I have come to respect him.

A little history might help you understand how I got here. Many times I used the Indies Unlimited site to educate myself and to learn what the world of writing was all about. There were many terms used which I never fully understood, and incorrectly assumed what they meant.

Like good drill instructors K.S. Brooks and other members of the Indies Unlimited team would educate me very tactfully. I didn’t even know I was in basic training, but I guess I was. I had no idea what I was doing or where I was going. However every once in a while I would see some light at the end of the tunnel and it would keep me going.
