Congratulations to Massimo Marino

Congratulations to author Massimo Marino whose post-apocalyptic novel Daimones
has been awarded the 2012 PRG Reviewer’s Choice in Science Fiction by the Paranormal Romance Guild.

Dan and his family awake one day in a world where everyone is dead but nothing points to a cause. Initial searches for survivors yield nothing and, in panic, the family turns their house into a stronghold. Eventually, they find Laura, a survivor who wins their hearts…and leads Dan to temptation. Laura describes her panic encounter with strange entities which Dan recognizes in his childhood hallucinations. He forces himself to find and confront them: An older power controls the fate of men.

A few selected will face the ultimate quest: a painful genetic transformation and work toward the rebirth of a new human race, or oblivion and death in isolation.

Reviewer Natasha Slight of Simply Sensational Book Fanatics says, “The scenes the author has created made me laugh, made me feel sad, and had me questioning myself if I were put in that same position.”

Daimones is available from Amazon, Smashwords, and Barnes&Noble.

Salute to the Academy Awards

Even though these films represent the cream of the crop this year,  Mr. Pish sees how things could be just a little bit better.

Featured Author: L.E. Truscott

L.E. Truscott is an Australian author better known to her friends and family as Louise.

“I started writing Enemies Closer almost ten years ago after reading an action adventure novel in which the greatest contribution of the women characters seemed to be wearing bikinis and giggling.”

“My favorite thing in the whole world is stories – telling them, hearing them, reading them, watching them.”

“I have an Advanced Diploma of Arts in Professional Writing and Editing and a Master of Arts in Writing but there is nothing more important than time and effort. Everyone who asks me for tips on writing gets the same advice: just do it. There is no substitute, no fast track, no quick fix.” Continue reading “Featured Author: L.E. Truscott”

Tagline Trauma

You have heard the expression, “It’s what’s inside that counts.” While I don’t disagree with the sentiment, allow me to add my own corollary: No one will see what’s on the inside if they can’t get past the outside.

Yes, you want the inside of the book to be captivating. The inside of the book is the actual book, after all. That’s where the writing part of being a writer mostly comes in.

Once you have typed “the end,” you are ready to get started. This is where it seems to become more difficult. Now that you’ve finnished writing, editing and polishing the actual book, you must now move on to packaging and marketing. Continue reading “Tagline Trauma”
